GreenFi (formerly Aspiration)

Climate-focused banking and investment accounts for customers who want deposits kept out of fossil fuels.

About GreenFi (formerly Aspiration)

GreenFi is a banking and investment service built around sustainability. It is the new name for the banking products previously offered under the Aspiration brand, following the acquisition of Aspiration's fintech arm by Mission Financial Partners. The company says it launched on 22 April 2025.

Existing checking, savings and investment accounts carry over unchanged, and the company states that deposits will not be used to fund fossil fuels. Account holders are moved across automatically and receive a new tap-to-pay card.

According to the publisher, bank deposits are FDIC insured up to $1 million. This is a United States protection, so Ghanaian and other African users should check whether they can open an account and what protection applies to them.

The publisher has announced further products for the coming months. These are plans, not confirmed features:

  • High-yield savings
  • Climate-friendly credit cards
  • An improved Plus subscription
  • Impact investments
  • Sustainable loans
